The Director Extremity Orthopedics Professional Education will provide a key educational resource to the OTT Division both internally and externally. S/he will be the driver in identification and development of targeted, high priority KOL’s and luminary sites for medical education. S/he will develop and implement focused medical education programs in specific market segments, in conjunction with Marketing. S/he will also provide comprehensive scientific and clinical support at external surgeon training programs and industry sponsored events. S/he will be expected to be proficient in educating and providing clinical support across the breadth of the OTT portfolio.

KOL interactions & engagements:
Identify, and maintain a network of leading KOLs in multiple disciplines which corresponds and satisfies the business needs in OTT.
Work to optimize relationships and ensure satisfaction levels with Integra KOL’s.
Communicate the Integra Health Care Professional Engagement Process throughout the company.
Identify, train and mentor potential individuals as company sponsors to compliantly build HCP relationships.
Communicate relevant information from KOLs to internal cross-functional stakeholders.
Works with marketing and to understand the education needs of the customer based on the overall strategy focusing on the full line of Extremity Orthopedic products.
Helps to develop educational programs for specific clinical areas identifying and working with appropriate internal and external HCP experts.
Works with Sales Training to help develop and support sales training programs as needed.
Develops and supports web based and on-line training programs with educational content and material.
Assists with KOL engagement and medical education activities at conventions with marketing support.
Stay abreast of medical and scientific developments within the assigned therapeutic area by reviewing current literature, monitoring competitor activities, attending scientific conferences and networking with experts.
Support internal (e.g. clinical sales specialists) and external (CME courses, labs) training programs.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.
Education, type and experience
DPM, PhD, PA-C, NP, RN, in related science/medical field with industry experience in professional affairs / scientific communications (pharma or medical devices) will be considered or MBA with considerable Orthopedic experience.
A minimum of 10 years of Med Device experience, 5 years of orthopedics
Experience in orthopedic surgery required with preference for Foot and ankle and shoulder and upper extremity surgery
Proven understanding of the medical device and healthcare system requirements.
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to form strong and constructive internal as well as external professional relationships.
Excellent organizational and management skills.
Position requires composition ability and presentation skills
Effectively interacts with and collaborates at all levels in the organization.
Project management experience is a plus
