The Senior Demand Planner is responsible for executing global demand planning for a given geography and product portfolio. This includes maintaining statistical forecasts, projected tenders, planned set builds, and non-sales demand for assigned product franchises. The Sr. Demand Planner will through a combination of market analysis and statistical modeling, create projections of future sales for each market and product combination. Using forecasting KPIS and statistical models, the demand planner will evaluate submitted forecasts and assess how proposed demand events may impact sales volume. These forecasts are collaboratively reviewed with stakeholders in sales, marketing and finance to build consensus while managing risk against the financial plan. This position will ensure compliance with company and division-wide planning strategies, policies, standards, practices and relevant regulatory requirements including U.S. Food and Drug Administration and DOT/IATA, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and other applicable agencies.
Lead the Sales and Operations Planning process for a given geography and product portfolio, communicating forecasts to Procurement and Supply Planning and facilitating feedback communication of any constraints or decisions made in S&OP review
Develop and maintain a rolling statistical demand forecast for assigned product lines at the SKU level in assigned markets
Lead the demand reviews with sales, marketing, finance and supply chain management of the statistical and market forecasts, explaining the business assumptions behind the forecast and methods used to quantify each event
Drive achieving consensus for operational demand forecasts by leading a collaborative demand planning process with sales, marketing and finance stakeholders at the market and regional levels
Ensure that monthly forecasts are compared to and in alignment with financial budget/forecasts. Explain variances, note uncertainty and highlight risk areas to the consensus team
Lead reviewing the strategic product strategies, to include product launches, product end of life and other events that affect forecasts with franchise marketing and communicate strategies and decisions to regional demand planning
Define with Regulatory certification and other requirements and timelines and ensure that forecasts align with these requirements
Ensure that reports pertaining to demand planning process are prepared and maintained, measuring a broad set of metrics: forecast error, forecast bias, inventory levels and customer service levels

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required for his position.
Bachelor's degree in Operations, Engineering, Business or a related discipline is required
MBA or advanced degree is preferred
At least 5 years of experience in demand planning or equivalency
APICS certification is preferred
Medical Device or Pharmaceutical industry experience is preferred
Excellent business acumen, including demonstrated abilities and leadership with financial analyses, business case preparation, NPV, ROI, and data-driven approach
Experience with Oracle and Cognos preferred
Experience in leading presentations to cross-functional audiences is preferred
Able to work independently and to solve complex problems, applying expertise in business intelligence and data solutions to drive best practices and innovative solutions
